Basketball Game Promotions Schedule Announced
Join the Deacon at the LJVM Coliseum to see Wake Forest in action this season.

Tuesday, Nov. 12, 7 p.m. - vs. VMI

Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Classic - In honor of Veterans Day and Lawrence Joel, Wake Forest will celebrate veterans and active duty personnel with the inaugural Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Classic vs. VMI on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. U.S. veterans of any military service branch or active duty military personnel and their immediate families will receive free admission to the game. Veterans or their family representatives can come to the Joel Coliseum on game night where Wake Forest will be distributing tickets at a table outside the student entrance. Military I.D. must be presented to receive tickets. In addition to providing free tickets, Wake Forest will recognize veterans and military personnel with special reads during the game. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 7 p.m. - vs. Tulane

"Make a Difference" Breast Cancer Awareness - The Wake Forest basketball program is committed to raising awareness of breast cancer and its research. This year's "Make A Difference" game is Wednesday, Dec. 4, vs. Tulane at 7 p.m. in the LJVM Coliseum. The team will be dawning special pink uniforms and pink shoes as a sign of appreciation for those who have fought against breast cancer. A silent auction will take place in the LJVM lobby; the auction will end promptly at halftime. Proceeds raised from all breast cancer awareness games at Wake Forest this season will benefit the North Carolina Triad affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Saturday, Dec. 7, 2 p.m. - vs. Richmond

Fox 8 Gifts for Kids - WGHP Fox 8 is proud to partner with Wake Forest athletics for the fourth consecutive year to bring their Gifts for Kids initiative to the LJVM Coliseum for the Demon Deacons' game against Richmond on Saturday, Dec. 7. Fans are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to the game. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. Fans will receive a free ticket to the game with the donation of a new toy with a retail value of $10 or greater. All gameday donations will be collected by The Salvation Army and will be given to children in the Winston-Salem area.



Wednesday, Jan. 15, 9 p.m. - vs. NC State

Operation Gold Rush - Demon Deacon fans are encouraged to participate in Operation Gold Rush for Wake Forest's game against NC State. Fans are encouraged to wear gold to the game; in addition, the Wake Forest Sports Marketing Department will place gold shakers in everyone's seat. Help the Deacons with Operation Gold Rush in this ACC basketball showdown.

Saturday, Feb. 23, 3 p.m. - vs. Notre Dame

Wake Forest Spirit Day - Wake Forest athletics would like to invite all dance teams along with members and their families out to the Wake Forest vs. Notre Dame game on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 3 p.m. Participants of Wake Forest Spirit Day will receive a special discounted ticket to the game. This includes a Wake Forest spirit item, ticket to the game and a pre-game clinic taught by the Wake Forest dance team. For more information contact Adam Rich at (336) 758-4032.

Wednesday, Jan. 29, 9 p.m. - vs. Syracuse

Frisbee Dogs - Wake Forest will welcome in America's greatest Frisbee dogs who perform the world's most incredible stunts. These dogs have appeared on Fox Sports You Gotta See This! and ESPN's Monday Night Football and have been featured in Sports Illustrated Magazine. The dogs have starred in commercials and have been invited as special guests on many talk shows such as Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres and the Tonight Show With Jay Leno. Every show is choreographed to music, offers original tricks, long bomb catches, big-air stunts and is performed by world class trainers and champion Frisbee dogs!

Saturday, Feb. 1, 12 p.m. - vs. Georgia Tech

Literacy Program - The Wake Forest Literacy Program is for fourth-grade students in the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School District. This program started in 2009 and is dedicated in memory of the late Skip Prosser, the Wake Forest's coach from 2001-07. Coach Prosser valued reading and education, aspects that he always stressed to his players. This program runs from September to November each year. Students reach different levels of the program by reading books and earning more prizes with each level. The top two levels, Deacon All-American and Deacon Champion, receive a ticket to a Wake Forest men's basketball game. At this game, there is a halftime recognition ceremony for the Deacon Champions on the court with the Deacon and Mr. Wellman. Saturday, Feb. 15, 8 p.m. - vs. Florida State

Celebration of Youth Sports - Winston-Salem youth sports players and coaches are invited to take part in this year's Wake Forest Celebration of Youth Sport taking place during the home game against Florida State on Saturday, Feb. 15. All players and coaches will be invited onto the court postgame for photographs. All participants will also receive a certificate signed by head basketball coach Jeff Bzdelik and Director of Athletics Ron Wellman. Participating teams will also be recognized during the game on the video board and with a public address announcement. Please get together with your team, make arrangements to meet up and take part in this wonderful opportunity to allow our teams and Winston-Salem youth coaches and players to be showcased! Mardis Gras Night/Greek Night - Join us at the Mardi Gras game in your mask and costume and be part of the halftime parade, contests and more. Campus Deacon Cup teams will participate in a float competition at halftime. During this time, members of the specific organization will parade across the court throwing candy and beads into the stands. A winner will be announced during the second half of the game and will receive a promotional prize.

Saturday, March 1, 4 p.m. - vs. Boston College

Deacon Birthday Bash - Help the Deacon celebrate his birthday on Saturday, March 1, before the game against Boston College. Several of the Deacon's closest friends will be in attendance, including "Bolt" from the Winston-Salem Dash, "Scooby Doo" from Knittingham Puppy Farm, "Bo the Ball" from the Winston Salem Open and many more area mascots.
