ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands - Wake Forest will continue play at the 2012 Paradise Jam when the Demon Deacons take on the Iona Gaels in the consolation bracket semifinals on Saturday evening in St. Thomas. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET at the UVI Sports and Fitness Center.

Last Time Out
Wake Forest is coming off a 77-71 loss to No. 23-ranked Connecticut on Friday in the opening round of the Paradise Jam. The Huskies used a 12-0 run midway through the second half to erase a four-point Deacon lead.
Freshman Codi Miller-McIntyre led the Deacons with game-highs of 21 points and five assists. C.J. Harris scored 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting, while Travis McKie had 16 points and eight rebounds.
The Deacons used a 10-0 run to take a 50-46 lead with 12 minutes to play. However, the Huskies erased a 52-49 Deacon lead with their 12-0 run and then held off a late Wake Forest rally that saw the deficit dwindle to four with under a minute to play.
Iona (1-1) is coming off a 98-92 overtime loss to Quinnipiac on Friday at the Paradise Jam. Lamont Jones scored 40 points and hit a game-tying 3-pointer with 4.2 seconds remaining to send the game to overtime.
The Gaels opened the season with a 65-58 home win over Denver on Friday, Nov. 9.
Jones, a transfer from Arizona, leads Iona with 30.0 points per game. Taaj Ridley and 5-9 Tavon Sledge lead the Gaels with 7.0 rebounds per game.
Wake Forest and Iona have never met previously on the hardwood.
The Deacons are 14-6 all-time against current MAAC schools, including a 75-63 win over Loyola Maryland in last year's season opener. Wake Forest has won nine straight games against current MAAC schools since a loss to Siena in the 1987-88 season opener.
Wake Forest is 8-2 all-time against schools beginning with the letter "I" and 134-173 all-time against schools with four-letter names.
Wake Forest will wrap up play at the Paradise Jam on Monday, Nov. 19, against either Mercer or UIC at either 2:30 p.m. or 5 p.m. ET.
The Deacons are 1-0 all-time vs. Mercer and have never faced UIC, which is the alma mater of head coach Jeff Bzdelik.
