Wake Forest Storylines
Codi Miller-McIntyre is the first Deacon to score at least 20 points in three straight games since Travis McKie in 2011-12. The last Deacon to accomplish the feat in four straight games was Jeff Teague, who had five straight midway through the 2008-09 season.
Devin Thomas has posted two straight double-doubles. The last Deacon to post three straight was James Johnson in 2008-09.
Jacksonville is 1-2 on the season following Saturday's 87-78 loss at Gardner-Webb. The Dolphins also lost to ACC foe Florida State 91-67 to open the season on Nov. 8.
Jacksonville features a balanced scoring attack with five players averaging at least 10 points per game.
Wake Forest has won all five previous meetings with Jacksonville, but the teams have not met in almost 30 years.
The Deacons' best win over the Dolphins came in the teams' first meeting on Dec. 30, 1970 at the Gold Coast Classic in West Palm Beach. Wake Forest upset Artis Gilmore and No. 9-ranked Jacksonville 78-77. The Dolphins were coming off a national runner-up season and finished the 1970-71 campaign ranked No. 11 in the country.
Wake Forest will host The Citadel on Thursday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m. in the opening stateside game of the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament. The game, which has no bearing on the Deacons competing in the Bahamas portion of the event, will be broadcast online on ESPN3.
Wake Forest is 14-2 all-time against The Citadel. Thursday's game wraps up a five-game homestand to start the season for the Deacons.
The Deacons will be off for a week before taking on Kansas on Thanksgiving Day in the Bahamas. Wake Forest will face either USC or Villanova in the second round of the Battle 4 Atlantis.
