Jason Carter begins his second season as a member of the Wake Forest football staff, his first as a graduate assistant. Carter's responsibilities include analyzing opposing offenses, organizing scouting report information and coordinating the scout team offense in preparation for the defensive unit each week. In 2005, Carter assisted recruiting coordinator Ray McCartney with all correspondence with recruits. Carter played for the Deacons from 2001-03, earning a varsity letter as a senior. He appeared in four games during the 2003 season and performed on special teams and at strong safety. Seven of Carter's defensive teammates from the 2003 team later signed NFL contracts. The former walk-on began his collegiate career at the University of Illinois before transferring to Wake Forest in 2001. A native of Evanston, Ill., Carter was a multi-sport standout, earning three letters in wrestling and two in football at Evanston Township High School, north of Chicago. Carter graduated from Wake Forest in 2004 with a degree in English and a minor in international studies. |
