Joined the Deacons in the fall of 2011 as a walk-on ... A 2011 Middle Creek (N.C.) High School ... Played long snapper and linebacker for the Mustangs ... Had 95 tackles, four sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one interception as a senior in 2010 ... Led the team in tackles as a senior with 8.6 per game ... first team all-conference as a junior ... Played for Coach Sean Crocker ... Helped the Mustangs to a 9-3 record, including a 6-2 mark in the Tri-Nine 4-A Conference, and the second round of the state playoffs as a senior ... Made the game-saving tackle in a 41-40 overtime win over Leesville Road in the playoffs ... Earned High School OT.com first team honors at linebacker ... Middle Creek went 12-2 in 2009 ... Earned All-Tri-Nine Conference honors in baseball as well.
