With the Loss

  •  Wake Forest falls to .500 at 5-5 overall and 4-3 in the ACC
  •  Wake Forest has lost three straight games for the first time this season
  •  Jim Grobe's record stands at 67-65 at Wake Forest and 100-98-1 overall
  •  Wake Forest lost its sixth straight game in Death Valley, falling to 7-35 all-time in Clemson
  •  Wake Forest lost to a ranked Clemson team for the 19th consecutive time and is now 1-19 vs. ranked Tiger teams
  •  Wake Forest fell to 20-112-1 all-time against ranked opponents

The Beat Goes On For Givens

  •  Junior Chris Givens has been climbing the receiving charts all year. He finished the game today four catches for 31 yards.
  •  He now has 1,016 yards this season which is the second-most receiving yards for a single-season in school-history. Givens only trails Ricky Proehl, who had 1,053 receiving yards in 1989.
  •  Givens has now caught a pass in each of the last 25 games he has played in.
  •  The Wylie, Texas native moved into a tie for 6th all-time with 142 career receptions and is also 6th all-time with 2,159 career yards.

Cam Ford Finds Paydirt

  •  Senior tight end Cameron Ford caught a 3-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter to tie the game at 7-7.
  •  That was the second touchdown reception of the year and the second of his career.
  •  Ford finished the day with two catches for 21 yards.

Pendergrass In The Zone

  •  Senior running back Brandon Pendergrass took over as the starting running back against Virginia Tech on Oct. 15, and has made the most of his opportunity.
  •  He finished the day with a career-high 134 yards on 20 carries.
  •  This is just his second 100-yard rushing day of his career and it topped his previous career-high of 110 yards which he had against Virginia on Nov. 8, 2011.
  •  He scored two touchdowns today, giving him 16 for his career.
  •  It was the second multi-touchdown game of his career. He also had two scores in the loss at North Carolina on Oct. 29.
  •  Wake is 9-5 when Pendergrass scores a touchdown.

Bush At It Again

  •  Josh Bush recorded his seventh career interception in the third quarter.
  •  That was Bush's team-high sixth interception of the season and his third in the last two weeks. He had two interceptions last week against Notre Dame.
  •  Bush also finished the day with a team-high two pass breakups.

Deacs Go To Return Camp

  •  Sophomore Michael Campanaro returned a third-quarter punt 50 yards for a touchdown.
  •  That was the first punt return for a touchdown of his career.
  •  It was the first punt return for a touchdown for Wake Forest since Kenny Moore returned a punt 55-yards for a score against Army on Sept. 15, 2007.
  •  That was also the first special teams/defensive touchdown of the season for or an opponent.

Thompson Gets a Paw On It

  •  Sophomore defensive end Zach Thompson recorded his first career interception in the second quarter.
  •  That was the first interception for a Wake Forest defensive linemen since John Russell in 2007.
  •  Thompson intercepted Boyd as Clemson was on the move. The interception occurred at the Wake Forest 28-yard line and he returned eight yards.
  •  Thompson finished the day with three tackles.

Wilber Makes A Stand

  •  Senior Kyle Wilber recorded a career-high 13 tackles on the afternoon. That topped his previous career-high of 11 stops, which he recorded at Florida State on Sept. 25, 2010.
  •  Wilber also had one tackle for loss today which was the 34th of his career. He is now tied for 8th all-time in school-history with James Parker (1976-79).

Orville Let Loose To Fly

  •  True-freshman running back Orville Reynolds played in his second-straight game this season.
  •  Reynolds ran the ball
  •  He is the only true-freshman to play this season for the Demon Deacons.

Newman With Rare Misses

  •  Place kicker Jimmy Newman missed a 47-yard field goal attempt in the second quarter and a 32-yard attempt in the fourth quarter.
  •  After missing a 42-yard attempt in the fourth quarter against Notre Dame last Saturday, Newman has now missed three-straight field goal attempts for the first time in his career.
  •  Newman had not missed two-straight field goal attempts since Oct. 31, 2009 when he missed a 45-yard and a 60-yard attempt at Miami.
  •  Newman is now 15-of-19 on the year.

Miscellaneous Stats

  •  Wake Forest won the toss and elected to receive.
  •  The Demon Deacons have now received the ball first in all 10 games this season.
  •  Wake Forest captains were seniors Kyle Wilber and Joe Looney.
  •  Wake Forest had a total of seven pass breakups on the day but six different defenders. Senior Josh Bush was the only player with multi pass breakups.
