ATLANTA - Former Wake Forest football players Tyson Clabo and Joe Looney will face each other Sunday in the NFC Championship with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line.

Clabo is a starting right guard for the top-seeded Atlanta Falcons, while Looney is a rookie guard for the San Francisco 49ers. The NFC Championship will kick off at 3 p.m. at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta and will be televised on Fox.

An eight-year NFL veteran, Clabo has started every game for the Falcons, helping them to the best record in the NFC. He played for the Demon Deacons from 2000-03.

Looney has been inactive for all of the 49ers' games year, but has remained on their 53-man roster and is listed second on the depth chart at left guard. He played at Wake Forest from 2008-11.

The Falcons reached the championship game by surviving a late comeback to down the Seattle Seahawks 30-28. The 49ers put on a strong second-half effort to take down the Green Bay Packers 45-31.
