On the upcoming spring practices...
"We're looking forward to them. We've got a good group coming back, and it's always good when you've got your quarterback coming back, so that's a real positive for us. We've got some depth issues at running back; it would be nice to see Josh Harris come on and have a strong spring. Certainly our offensive line is somewhat of a concern in that we've got some unproven but very athletic guys, but I'm excited about the talent level there. We've also got to develop some depth along the defensive front, but we've got a lot of good players coming back and we could have a pretty good football team."

On replacing Chris Givens...
"I don't know that Chris is replaceable from the standpoint of his foot speed, but we've got some guys who are very capable. Matt James and Brandon Terry are a couple of young guys that I really like; Sherman Ragland is a guy that we redshirted this past year that I think has a lot of ability. We expect guys like Michael Campanaro and Terence Davis to be really good players for us. I think overall we'll lose a real playmaker in Chris Givens, but I believe that we might have a little more depth at wideout than we've had in a while."

On the 2012 schedule...
"I really like it. It's a very challenging schedule; we've got so many good football teams on it, but I like the way that it breaks down. We've got an open date right in the middle of the year, which I think is good for us. We've had some early open dates over the past three or four years and I didn't like that, so I think our open date comes at a good time. We get to play on Thursday night which I think will be really cool for our players and fans. We'll have to play strongly every week to have a chance with this schedule."

On the new coaches on staff...
"I really like having the change in the coaching staff. I think it's always good to get new ideas. It's going to be fun to have an offensive line coach; Lobo's done a great job with the offensive line, but it's been really tough for him to balance that with coordinating the offense. I think Jonathan Himebauch will do a great job with our O-line. I'm also really excited about Derrick Jackson. He's got a lot of good thoughts on rushing the passer; last year we only had 11 sacks, that's the fewest we've had since I've been here. It'll be good to have some new ideas on how to pressure our opponents. The fresh ideas that we're getting this year will be good for us."
