WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Wake Forest football team has elected five co-captains for the 2016 season. The team selected three defensive players including linebacker Marquel Lee, safety Ryan Janvion and defensive end Wendell Dunn and two offensive players in tight end Cam Serigne and guard Tyler Hayworth.

Janvion will be a third-year captain for the Demon Deacons. The rising senior has made 282 career tackles and started 35 times in his career. A safety from Pembroke Pines, Florida (Dade Christian), Janvion has twice been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team. He led the Demon Deacons in tackles in both 2013 and 2014.

Dunn, a redshirt junior from Miami, Florida (Palmetto), has been a two-year starter for the Demon Deacons at defensive end. He collected 35 tackles in 12 starts in 2015 and was tied for third on the team with 7.5 tackles for loss.

Lee, a senior from Pomfret, Maryland (Westlake), is on target to start at linebacker for a third consecutive season. He recorded 101 tackles as a sophomore and added 72 last year. Lee led the team with 10 tackles for loss and was second with three sacks.

Hayworth, a redshirt senior from Kingsport, Tennessee (Dobyns-Bennett), has 21 career starts and is second on the offensive line in the category. Hayworth started 12 games as a redshirt freshman and once as a sophomore before earning the job fulltime in 2015.

Serigne, a redshirt-junior tight end from Ashburn, Virginia (Briar Woods), already holds the school record for career touchdown receptions by a tight end with nine. A starter in each of the last two seasons, Serigne was second on the club with 46 receptions in 2015 and second with 562 receiving yards.

Wake Forest will open the 2016 season at home against Tulane on Thursday, September 1, at BB&T Field.
