Official Pairings Announced for Chick-fil-A Bowl Challenge

www.Chick-fil-ABowlChallenge.com GREENSBORO, Ga. - The Chick-fil-A Bowl announced the official pairings for the sixth annual Chick-fil-A Bowl Challenge charity golf tournament. A 16-team field of NCAA head coaches and celebrity alumni will compete in a two-man scramble format over 18 holes, vying for a first-place prize of $125,000 in scholarship funds. All participating teams will receive a portion of the $520,000 total scholarship purse. Wake Forest head coach Jim Grobe and former Demon Deacon quarterback Riley Skinner will be paired with Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney and former Tigers quarterback Steve Fuller. In the event's largest field to date, featured groups include conference and state rivalry pairings, as well as teams that have competed or are set to compete in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game (Alabama vs. Virginia Tech - 2009 and 2013, NC State vs. Tennessee - 2012). In the past five years, the Chick-fil-A Bowl Challenge has provided $2.55 million in scholarship and charitable contributions. In addition to the $520,000 scholarship purse, a $135,000 charitable donation will be made to Chick-fil-A's WinShape Homes. The Chick-fil-A Bowl Challenge is a significant contributor to the Chick-fil-A Bowl's overall charitable and scholarship donations, which total more than $13 million since 2002, making the Chick-fil-A Bowl college football's most charitable bowl game. The tournament is being taped by ESPN for broadcast in August and December. Specific air dates will be announced this summer.
