Ben Cauthen Named ACC Video Coordinator of the Year

COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS -The Collegiate Sports Video Association named Ben Cauthen, Video Coordinator for the Wake Forest football coaching staff, the 2016-2017 Atlantic Coast Conference Video Coordinator of the Year.

Cauthen was selected by a majority vote of his peers in the ACC to receive the Conference Coordinator of the Year honor. He is now a finalist for the prestigious Bob Matey National Video Coordinator of the Year award, which will be announced at the annual CSVA banquet on May 18th, 2017 in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Bob Matey award is presented to the Video Coordinator who displays innovation, determination, perseverance, and technical skill as portrayed by the late Bob Matey, legendary Video Coordinator from Texas A&M.

Cauthen enters his fourth season as Video Coordinator for the Demon Deacons. His first year as a member of CSVA was 2012. He came to Wake Forest after three seasons as the video coordinator for the Temple Owls. In addition to his football video duties with the Owls, he also oversaw the department’s conversion from standard definition to full high definition.

Prior to his time in Philadelphia, he spent three seasons as the Video Coordinator for The Citadel football program. He coordinated all video operations for the football team, including game exchanges, game film, practice film, and motivational and recruiting highlights.

Cauthen is a 2007 graduate of the University of South Carolina, earning a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and mass communication. While in Columbia, he worked for WIS TV. He played football at Coastal Carolina for two seasons (2002-03) before transferring to South Carolina. Cauthen received a master’s degree in secondary education in August 2011 from The Citadel.

The Lancaster, South Carolina native was a first-team All-Area and All-Region 4A quarterback at Lancaster High School in 2001. Ben and his wife, Tanya, reside in Winston-Salem, North Carolina with their daughter, Brooklyn.
