July 7, 2009
Early July might seem like a quiet time in Demon Deacon athletics, but here on campus things are already buzzing in preparation for the start of fall sports training. Parents of incoming freshmen athletes just wrapped up orientation and are now headed home after dropping off their rookies, while many of the veteran Wake Forest athletes are already back in Winston-Salem for Summer Session II. WakeForestSports.com wants to make sure our Demon Deacon fans are taking their preseason conditioning just as seriously the athletes are. When Wake Forest football begins training camp on August 7 you can have complete confidence you'll be prepared to sprint full speed into the 2009-10 season if you've followed our 30-Day Camp Countdown. We've poured over our football archives to find the stories that have been forgotten as well as the stories we still remember but wouldn't mind hearing again. Be sure to check in every weekday for our featured coach, player, game, or anything else related to Deacon football. The countdown kicks off on July 8 with some tales from the 1889 team and from there, well, you'll just have to stay tuned. ![]()
