Serigne Named to Mackey Award Watch List

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest senior tight end Cam Serigne has been named to the 2017 Preseason Mackey Award watch list.

Serigne, a 6-3, 245-pound redshirt senior from Ashburn, Va. (Briar Woods) will enter his senior season as one of the most prolific tight ends in school history. Serigne ranks second in school history among tight ends with 130 career receptions and is second among TE’s in career receiving yards with 1,519. His 12 career touchdown receptions are most by a Demon Deacon tight end and Serigne enters the 2017 season with a streak of 36 games with at least one reception.

Given annually to the most outstanding collegiate tight end, the award recipient is selected by vote of the John Mackey Award Selection Committee and the 2017 Mackey Award recipient will be announced on December 6, 2017 and then presented live on December 7, 2017 at The Home Depot College Football Awards Red Carpet Show on ESPNU.

NFL Hall of Fame member John Mackey is considered to be the best to have played the tight end position. A tight end by whom all others are measured, Mackey was a role model on and off the field as demonstrated by his Super Bowl Championship, his commitment to community and his place in history as the first President of the NFLPA.
