Today was the first two a day. Even though it wasn't a real two a day, because we still didn't do any hitting, it was still pretty tough. We ran gasers in the morning, which is running the width of the field and then coming back then doing it again. We did three of these again today. In the afternoon we did agility drills. These normally aren't a big deal but today was different. I think the coaches added four more stations then what we have been used to in the summer. They usually take about ten minutes to do but today it was twenty. Practice went well in the morning and it was a little sluggish in the afternoon due to the heat and the fact that it was the first two a day. Next week will be a lot different. In the morning we will have one on one drills against the defensive lineman and linebackers. At the end of the practice we will scrimmage for about twenty to thirty minutes.
Everything up until now has been low key and learning the plays. Now we
have our whole offense installed and we can go against the defense on
Monday. It is always interesting when we run our plays against our own
defense. We have a no huddle offense, so the quarterback calls the
plays at the line of scrimmage. This is a big advantage for us in the
game. But in practice some of the players on defense have some of our
code words memorized. I'm sure when we run sprint pass Montique Sharpe will announce to the whole defense where the play is going.
