Elon, a member of the Southern Conference, comes to Winston-Salem with a 2-0 record after opening the season with sizable wins over Davidson and Presbyterian. The Phoenix, ranked No. 11 in the FC Top 25 Poll, picked up a 41-7 defeat of Presbyterian last Saturday in Clinton, S.C. Saturday's game will be the 10th all-time meeting between Wake Forest and Elon, as the Deacons lead the series 8-0-1. The teams have not met on the gridiron since 1939 and have not met previously in Winston-Salem. Wake Forest will induct five new members into its Sports Hall of Fame this weekend.
