Nov. 1, 2009
The Nov. 7 Wake Forest football game at Georgia Tech has been scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start and will be carried by ABC/ESPN2. Wake Forest is 4-5 overall and 2-3 in the ACC Atlantic Division. Georgia Tech is 8-1 overall and 5-1 in the ACC Coastal Division. The Yellow Jackets are ranked No. 11 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll of Nov. 1. This will mark the first time that Wake Forest has played nationally-ranked teams in consecutive games during the regular season since 2005 when the Deacons played at No. 4 Florida State and No. 14 Boston College on Oct. 8 and 15, respectively. The Deacons lost at home to No. 18 Miami on Oct. 31 by a score of 28-27. Saturday's game marks the first meeting between Wake Forest and Georgia Tech since the Demon Deacons scored a 9-6 win in the ACC Championship in Jacksonville in 2006.
