WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest will play its home season finale and honor its 22 seniors as the Demon Deacons host ACC Atlantic rival Florida State on Saturday at 12 p.m. at BB&T Field. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU and is also available on the Wake Forest ISP Sports Radio Network. The Deacons come in at 4-5 overall and 2-4 in the ACC. Wake Forest has lost four straight games, including a heartbreaking 30-27 setback in overtime last Saturday at Georgia Tech. The Seminoles are 4-5 overall and 2-4 in the ACC. Florida State is coming off a 40-24 setback at the hands of Clemson last Saturday in Death Valley. The loss was especially painful, as the Seminoles lost starting quarterback Christian Ponder who suffered a separated shoulder. Ponder is expected to miss Saturday's contest. Wake must win each of its remaining two games this season in order to qualify for a fourth straight bowl appearance. The Deacons will play at in-state rival Duke to conclude the regular season on Nov. 28 in Durham. FSU is in a similar position as Wake Forest, needing two wins in its final three games to become bowl eligible. The Seminoles have been to a bowl in each of the previous 27 seasons.
