LOS ANGELES – Three members of the Wake Forest men’s golf team will be in action next week at the U.S. Amateur Championship, held August 14-20 at the Riviera Country Club and Bel-Air Country Club. Rising senior Will Zalatoris, rising junior Cameron Young and rising sophomore Eric Bae are among the 312 players in the field.

The tournament will consist of stroke play on Monday and Tuesday. The top 64 players will advance to match play, which begins Wednesday and concludes with Sunday’s final. Television coverage of match play will be on Fox and Fox Sports 1, starting Wednesday.

Zalatoris received an exemption into the field by being in the top 50 of the World Amateur Golf Rankings, where he is currently No. 10. Bae and Young both claimed their place in the field through qualifying, as Young won the qualifier in Purchase, N.Y., and Bae was the runner-up at the qualifier in Sanford, N.C.

Young and Zalatoris are both competing in the event for the fifth consecutive year. Both players advanced to match play at last year’s event, with Young reaching the round of 16 and Zalatoris reaching the round of 64. In 2014, Young reached the quarterfinals, while Zalatoris reached the round of 16. Bae will be playing in his first U.S. Amateur Championship.
