MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA - This year's United States President's Cup team has a couple of things no other President's Cup team has ever had.

The first is there are three Demon Deacons on the squad. Webb Simpson and Bill Haas have both played tremendous golf over the past two years and both earned a spot to represent the United States this week. Bill's father Jay Haas, a veteran of three Ryder Cups and two President's Cups, will serve as an assistant captain this week. Jay and Bill also represent the first father-son combination in President's Cup history.

This will be both Webb and Bill's first national team appearance as professionals. Each player was part of a victorious U.S. Walker Cup team in their amateur days.

This year's contest is being played at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Melbourne, Australia. The first matches are scheduled to begin at 1:05 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17 in Melbourne and 9:05 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16 here in the States.

All 12 members of each team will play in the first day's foursomes matches as well as the second day's four-ball matches. The third day consists of five foursomes matches in the morning and five four-ball matches in the afternoon. The event then concludes on the fourth day with 12 singles matches.

Simpson and Haas are both paired with good friends in the opening foursomes matches. Simpson and Bubba Watson will lead off for the U.S. squad against Ernie Els and Rio Ishikawa. Haas is paired with Nick Watney in match No. 2 against Geoff Ogilvy and Charl Schwartzel.

Television coverage of the event can been seen live on The Golf Channel and tape-delayed on NBC. Coverage of the first day's foursomes matches will begin at 9:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, Nov. 16. Check the President's Cup website for the complete TV schedule.
