Clayton spent three years as a coach and four as a player at Wake Forest
Will Clayton enters his fourth season with the Demon Deacons and will be the director of soccer development during the 2013 campaign.
He is no stranger to the program, however, and spent four years as a player for Wake Forest on teams that went to four straight College Cups. Clayton was a member of the 2007 NCAA Championship team and appeared in 24 matches in the midfield over the course of his playing career.
The Durham, N.C. native was also a four-year letterwinner at C.E. Jordan High School and was an all-state honoree in 2004. He graduated from Wake Forest in 2009 with a degree in history.
Clayton resides in Winston-Salem, N.C.
