WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- No. 2 Wake Forest posted its biggest offensive output since 2008 in an 8-0 win over Longwood at Spry Stadium on Tuesday night.

Seven different Demon Deacons (12-1-0) found the back of the net as Wake Forest tallied eight goals for the first time since an 8-2 win over Virginia Tech on Oct. 4, 2008. Tuesday also marked the first time the Lancers (0-11-1) have surrendered more than two goals this season.

Jon Bakero (two goals, assist), Steven Echevarria (goal, assist), Omir Fernandez (goal, assist) and Luis Argudo (three assists) paced the Deacon attack with at least three points apiece.

Michael DeShields and Justin McMaster scored the first goals of their careers, while Hank Gauger added his first of the season.

DeShields earned what proved to be the game-winner in the 12th minute, putting away an Argudo corner.

Bakero put away a PK in the 29th minute and Bruno Lapa bent in a free kick in the 43rd minute to put the Deacs up 3-0 at half.

Bakero scored again in the 48th minute, heading in an Argudo corner far post.

Echevarria made it 5-0 in the 53rd minute, beating the keeper after one-touch passes in the box from Bakero and Argudo.

Gauger notched his first goal of the season in the 58th minute after a Logan Gdula longball led to an Echevarria cross inside the six.

In the 73rd minute, Fernandez stole the ball from a defender and beat the keeper 1v1 to push the margin to 7-0, and McMaster capped the scoring in the 86th minute off assists from Gdula and Fernandez.

Andreu Cases Mundet stopped the only shot on goal he faced and Kyle Barkett saw 17 minutes of action in his Wake Forest debut. The Deacs outshot the Lancers, 25-1.

The Deacons return to ACC play against Virginia Tech at home on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
