PHILADELPHIA – Wake Forest senior Luis Argudo was drafted in the third round, No. 67 overall, by the Columbus Crew on Sunday afternoon.

Argudo becomes the third Demon Deacon picked in the MLS SuperDraft, following Jon Bakero (fifth overall) and Ema Twumasi (11th overall).

"We're elated for Luis and his opportunity to begin his professional career," head coach Bobby Muuss said. "It has been fantastic to see his growth at Wake Forest and we know he'll be successful in his next journey."

Argudo spent his final two seasons at Wake Forest after spending his first two years at Elon. In 2017, he started all 2017 games and totaled 22 points on eight goals and six assists.

He was a third team All-ACC selection and All-Region honoree, helping Wake Forest to a 19-2-2 overall record and ACC Championship.

Argudo is the sixth Deacon to head to the MLS this offseason. In addition to Argudo, Bakero and Twumasi being picked in the SuperDraft, Kevin Politz, Brandon Servania and Mark McKenzie signed homegrown contracts.
