KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Wake Forest has earned the Team Academic Award from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America by posting a 3.05 team grade point average for the 2011-12 academic year.

The NSCAA annually recognizes college soccer programs that have excelled in the classroom, in addition to their work on the field. In order to be eligible for the award, a team's combined GPA must be 3.0 or higher.

Led by head coach Jay Vidovich, the Demon Deacons are just one of four teams in the ACC to earn the award, as Duke, NC State and Virginia Tech were also recipients.

Wake Forest finished the 2012 season with an 11-4-5 overall record, including an 8-2-2 record at Spry Stadium, and ranked No. 22 in the final NSCAA Top 25 Poll.
