WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's soccer team battled to a 0-0 draw with Northwestern on Saturday, March 10, in the spring season opener at Spry Stadium.

Freshman Sean Okoli led the offensive charge for Wake Forest, finishing the night with three shots on goal. The striker had two near misses in the first half that required brilliant saves from the Northwestern keeper.

In all, WFU outshot Northwestern 11-4 and was dominant in possession for most of the match.

In the backline, Chris Duvall, Sam Fink, Ben Newnam and Tolani Ibikunle teamed up to help keep the zero and limited the Wildcats to just four shots. Junior keeper Michael Lisch earned the shutout with one save.

The Deacs will continue their spring slate next on Saturday, March 24 when they visit VCU for a 7:00 p.m. match.
