Carroll, Keel Part of White House Easter Festivities
April 16, 2012
Carroll, now an MLS stalwart for the Philadelphia Union, and Keel of the New York Red Bulls were joined by several teammates and coaches on the warm spring afternoon.
The pair helped volunteers and employees from the President's Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition lead area children through a dribbling course as part of the event's "Eggtivity Area." The goal was simple: to remind the participants and their parents to have fun and stay active.
Also included in the day's activities were readings from prominent poet Maya Angelou and live healthy cooking demonstrations from celebrity chefs Andrew Zimmern and Marcus Samuelsson.
"It was an incredible experience, being on the White House lawn for such a good cause, just getting kids to live healthily and happily, and to be able to celebrate that along with my family and represent the league and the Union here," Carroll told MLSsoccer.com. "It's something that I'll never forget."
