WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -

Watch Thompson's Goal

Former Wake Forest men's soccer player Wells Thompson scored his first professional goal as a member of the New England Revolution in his team's match against the Chicago Fire on Sunday, May 6.

Thompson notched the Revs' third goal of the game to clench the 3-1 victory.  The midfielder put a nice touch with his right foot to get around the Fire defender on the edge of the penalty box.  The move left him alone with the goalie when Thompson fired the ball over the keeper's left shoulder, leaving him no chance.

The win moved the Revolution to 3-1-2 on the year and into a tie for second place in the Eastern Conference standings.
