EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Former Wake Forest men's soccer player Sam Cronin earned his second international appearance with the full United States Men's National Team on Sunday, entering the game late in the second half as the U.S. fell to Mexico 5-0 in the finals of the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup at Giants Stadium.

Cronin made his second appearance in the Gold Cup, coming into the game as a sub in the 81st minute. Cronin earned his first cap against Haiti on July 11, making a start for the U.S.

After the U.S. and Mexico played a scoreless first half, Mexico erupted for five second half goals to claim the Gold Cup crown.

Former Deac Michael Parkhurst also was a member of the U.S. Gold Cup roster. Parkhurst made two starts for the United States during the Gold Cup, earning a starting nod against Honduras and Haiti. Parkhurst has made eight appearances with the full U.S. National Team in his career.
