Parkhurst earned the start and played every minute in the Americans' 2-1 loss to the Jamaicans on Sept. 7 at National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica.
Clint Dempsey scored the first goal of the game just 36 seconds in before Jamaica answered with goals in the 23rd and 62nd minutes.
The U.S. rebounded, thought, and defeated Jamaica, 1-0, at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, on Sept. 11. Hercules Gomez provided the game's only goal in the 55th minute to help the American cause. Parkhurst did not see action in that game.
Tracy's rights in the MLS now belong to the San Jose Earthquakes after the club won a weighted lottery conducted Thursday morning at the MLS headquarters.
The Earthquakes were one of eight teams vying for Tracy's services. San Jose had a 4.6 percent chance of winning the lottery based on their performance over the club's last 34 regular season matches. Six other teams had better odds of winning.
"We liked what we saw of Marcus when he finished his career at Wake Forest," said Earthquakes head coach Frank Yallop. "He's an athletically gifted striker and is dangerous in the air. We look forward to bringing him in."
Tracy signed with Aalborg BK of the Danish Superliga immediately following his career at Wake Forest. He spent 2009-2011 with the club before coming to the MLS.
