Deacs Welcome Top-Ranked Terps
No. 18 Wake Forest will wrap up its regular season by hosting No. 1 Maryland on Thursday night at Spry Stadium at 7 p.m.
Calling All Demon Deacon Students
Free "Spry's Army" scarves and t-shirts will be available to Wake Forest students in attendance.
In addition, the team will hold an autograph session after the game, so all fans can get their memorabilia signed by their favorite players.
Wake Forest Game of the Week
Fans in attendance will have one last chance to enter the season-long raffle for prizes. The drawing, which includes entries from all of the Wake Forest Games of the Week this fall, will take place during the game.
First prize is a pair of men's basketball season tickets. Other prizes include four tickets to a men's basketball ACC home game, four tickets to a men's basketball non-conference game and four women's basketball season passes.
How to Catch the Games
The game will be streamed live on ESPN3. John Sadak will do play-by-play, while Charlie Slagle will be the analyst.
Also, be sure to follow the Wake Forest men's soccer team on Twitter (@WakeMensSoccer) for updates throughout the game.
Last Time Out
The Demon Deacons defeated South Carolina 3-1 on Senior Night last Saturday.
The Gamecocks went ahead 1-0 early, but Wake Forest responded with three unanswered goals.
Luca Gimenez tied the game, Sean Okoli gave the Deacs the lead and Michael Gamble added the insurance goal in the win. Okoli (9), Gimenez (6) and Gamble (6) are the top three goal scorers on the team.
Maryland enters the game undefeated on the season with a 14-0-2 overall record and a 6-0-1 record in the ACC.
The Terps are outscoring their opponents 42-12 on the year.
Patrick Mullins leads the team in both goals (11) and assists (8).
The all-time series between these two soccer powers is deadlocked at 15-15-5.
The Deacs are 3-1-1 against the Terrapins in their last five, including a 1-1 tie in College Park last year when Maryland was ranked fourth.
Wake Forest will compete in the 2012 ACC Men's Soccer Championship on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The opponent and location are yet to be determined.
