WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest head men's soccer coach Bobby Muuss and assistants Steve Armas, Dane Brenner and Matt Poplawski were named the South Region Staff of the Year by United Soccer Coaches on Tuesday.

The coaching staff receives the honor for the second-consecutive season after also being named South Region Staff of the Year in 2016. Muuss also earned ACC Coach of the Year honors for a third-straight year, becoming the first coach ever to do so.

Wake Forest has won at least 17 games in each of Muuss' three seasons, including a 19-1-2 overall record this year entering Saturday's NCAA Quarterfinal against Stanford. The Deacs are the winningest program in the nation over the past three seasons.

The Demon Deacons won the ACC Atlantic Division title in the regular season with a 7-0-1 record, then claimed the ACC Championship in Charleston, winning both titles for the second-straight year.

The staff will be honored at the College Coaches Reception during the Convention in Philadelphia on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Marriott Independence Ballroom.

Regional Staff of the Year recipients will be placed on the ballot for National Staff of the Year consideration. Should a team reach the College Cup and its staff was not named a Regional Staff of the Year, it will be added to the ballot. Voting for the National Staff of the Year will begin on Dec. 5 and end Dec. 12. The NSCAA will announce the Men’s and Women’s National Staff of the Year on Dec. 19.
