Bloom Takes Second Place at WFU Spring Invite

By Alex Botoman, Wake Forest Athletic Communications (@WakeTennis) WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's tennis team went 8-3 on the penultimate day of the Wake Forest Spring Invite Sunday with Demon Deacons reaching both the singles and doubles finals. Deacon freshman Sam Bloom finished in second place in the singles draw, defeating teammate No. 90 Danny Kreyman in the semifinals before falling to 40th-ranked Hunter Reese from Tennessee in the final. In the doubles semis, Wake Forest's Anthony Delcore and Morgan Mays defeated Bloom and Kreyman 8-6 to reach the final where they will face David Hopkins and Amogh Prabhakar. Hopkins and Prabhakar advanced to the final via a walkover after Adam Lee was forced to pull out with an injury. Wake Forest rolled through the singles consolation Sunday. Delcore defeated Kennesaw State's Maksim Yorsh, Hopkins beat Delcore and William & Mary's Adrian Vodislav, 59th-ranked Prabhakar took down the Tribe's Aaron Chaffee and Tennessee's Sebastian Yllera, and Jon Ho knocked off the Volunteers' Taylor Patrick. Hopkins will take on Prabhakar in the only singles match scheduled for tomorrow, following the doubles championship which is scheduled for 10 a.m. Singles Doubles
