Deacons Shut Out by No. 12 Kentucky 4-0

LEXINGTON, Ky. - No. 12 Kentucky swept past No. 22 Wake Forest 4-0 Sunday in Lexington, Ky. as part of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend. With the win, the Wildcats advance to the ITA Team Indoor Championship. Kentucky improves to 6-0 on the season, while the Deacons fall to 1-1. UK set the tone in doubles, picking up wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions to take the doubles point. The Wildcats carried the momentum into singles, as No. 2 Eric Quigley took down No. 45 Jonathan Wolff at the top position to give Kentucky a 2-0 lead. No. 39 Alex Musialek followed with a 6-1, 6-4 win over No. 87 Tripper Carleton at No. 2. Brad Cox clinched the win at No. 3, winning a marathon second-set tiebreak to defeat No. 100 Danny Kreyman 6-3, 7-6 (13). The Demon Deacons will return to action next weekend with a trip north to face No. 24 Michigan on Feb. 5 and Michigan State on Feb. 6.
