Tigers Slip By Deacons, 4-3

BATON ROUGE, La. - After taking the doubles point and the opening singles wins, the Wake Forest men's tennis team was unable to hold the lead against LSU and dropped a 4-3 decision to the Tigers in Baton Rouge.
Wake Forest is now 6-4 headed into conference play next week with NC State. LSU improves to 5-7.
Danny Kreyman and Zach Leslie dropped the first doubles match, but the 16th-ranked Deacon tandem of Steven Forman and Iain Atkinson pulled an 8-4 win over Neal Skupski and Roger Anderson to knot doubles score at 1-1. Jonathan Wolff and Tripper Carleton sealed the Wake doubles point with a 9-8 tiebreaker over Stefan Szacinski and Olivier Borsos at No. 3.
Steven Forman took down Sebastian Carlsson at No. 2 7-6, 6-1 to put Wake Forest in front of LSU 2-0.
At No. 3, Jon Wolff and Stefan Szacisnski played two long sets and Wolff pulled out a 7-5, 7-6 win.
The Tigers then rallied back to take four close singles matches for the win. Jason Morgenstern and Zach Leslie each played out three sets at Nos. 6 and 5, respectively. Tripper Carleton also played No. 46 Neal Skupski to three sets, but fell 2-6, 7-5, 6-1.
