No. 30 Duke Upsets No. 25 Wake Forest 4-3

DURHAM, N.C. - The No. 25 Wake Forest men's tennis team fell 4-3 to No. 30 Duke on Wednesday afternoon at the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center. The Demon Deacons are now 12-6 and 2-1 in the ACC. Duke improved to 9-5 and 2-2 with the win. Wake Forest ran right through the doubles matches, taking all three wins in 45 minutes. Iain Atkinson and Carlos Salmon defeated Kiril Dimitrov and Luke Marchese 8-1. Cory Parr and Steven Forman topped Reid Carleton and Dylan Arnould 8-3 to clinch the point. Jon Wolff and David Hopkins added a final 8-5 win at No. 3 to finish the round. Jon Wolff suffered his first singles loss of the season, dropping a 6-2, 6-1 decision at No. 3 to knot the score at 1-1. Iain Atkinson also fell in straight sets before David Hopkins posted a 6-4, 6-2 win over Alain Michel to set the match score at 2-all. After dropping the opening set 6-3, Steven Forman stayed with No. 28 Reid Carleton through the second set but eventually fell 7-5 to put Duke within one match win of taking the overall victory. Jason Morgenstern fell behind Luke Marchese 5-2 in the final set. Morgenstern stayed alive to chase Marchese to 5-3 but couldn't break and fell 6-3 to clinch the Duke match win. Cory Parr added the final WFU score of night, defeating No. 58 Kiril Dimitrov 6-1, 6-7(5), 6-1. Wake Forest will next play at Georgia Tech on March 27 and follow with Clemson on March 29.
