Deacons Repel Yellow Jackets 5-2

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The No. 30 Wake Forest men's tennis team wrapped up the home portion of the 2008 schedule with two Atlantic Coast Conference wins, including a 7-0 sweep of Clemson on Friday and a 5-2 victory over Georgia Tech on Sunday.
The Demon Deacons are now 15-6 overall and 6-1 in league play heading into the final two weeks of regular season matches. The Yellow Jackets are 11-9, 1-6 in 2008.
In his final regular season match at the WFU Indoor Tennis Center, senior Mariusz Adamski posted wins in doubles and singles, including the clinching doubles match with teammate Jason Morgenstern at No. 3. Adamski also defeated Georgia Tech competitor Scott Blackmon 6-3, 7-5, marking the senior's 73rd career singles victory.
Cory Parr and Steve Forman improved to 9-3 at No. 1 doubles by notching the first win of the afternoon, taking an 8-3 decision over Blackmon and David North. Parr also put up the first Demon Deacon singles victory, earning a match win when North retired at No. 2 with Parr up 3-1 in the first set.
Sophomore Jason Morgenstern extended his current win streak to seven undefeated matches with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 5. Andrew Brasseaux clinched the Sunday victory with a straight set decision over George Gvelesiani, improving to 4-0 in ACC singles matches.
Next weekend the Deacs are headed to the Sunshine State to face Florida State on Friday, April 4 and Miami on Sunday, April 6.
