CHAPEL HILL, N.C.-- The 42nd-ranked Wake Forest men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 match to 18th-ranked North Carolina at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center Wednesday evening in Chapel Hill. The Demon Deacons fall to 9-8 overall and 2-4 in the ACC while the Tar Heels improve to 19-2 and remain undefeated in league play at 5-0.

UNC continued to roll right through the singles portion of the match, dropping just one of the six matches. Wake Forest's David Loewenthal dropped the opening set to Metzler at No. 3, but fought back for a 3-6, 6-0, 6-2 victory in that match. In a showdown between two of the ACC's top singles players, North Carolina's 31st-ranked Monroe got the best of #37 Spice, 6-4, 6-4 in the No. 1 position.
