Wake Forest Turns Back Wolfpack 5-2

RALEIGH, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's tennis team defeated NC State 5-2 on Tuesday afternoon in Raleigh. The Demon Deacons improved to 15-6 and 5-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference and NC State is now 9-10 and 3-4. Wake Forest dropped the doubles point, with the clinching match falling at No. 1, where NC State's Christian Welte and Jaime Pulgar topped top-ranked Cory Parr and Steven Forman 8-5. Parr followed with a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 1 and junior Jason Morgenstern added a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Julian Sullivan to push Wake Forest ahead 2-1. Andrew Brasseaux fell at No. 6, but Jon Wolff and Steven Forman followed with wins at Nos. 3 and 4 to clinch the WFU match win. Iain Atkinson defeated Derek Stephens 6-4, 1-6, 6-2 to set the final score at 5-2. Wake Forest will finish out the regular season at home, starting on Friday, April 3, when the Deacons play host to Florida State at 5 p.m. No. 28 Wake Forest d. No. 48 NC State, 5-2
