Hopkins/Prabhakar Fall in All-Americans Quarterfinals

TULSA, Okla. - Wake Forest's 17th-ranked doubles team of David Hopkins and Amogh Prabhakar fell to No. 42 Jordan Angus and Malte Stropp of Mississippi State in the second round of the ITA All-American Championships Friday in Tulsa, Okla.
Hopkins and Prabhakar came out of the wrong end of an 8-6 scoreline against the Bulldog duo, bringing their time at the tournament to an end.
In other Wake Forest men's tennis action Friday, Anthony Delcore reached the semifinals of his draw, Sam Bloom picked up a singles win and Bloom and Delcore teamed up to earn a doubles victory at the UVa Fall Classic.
Delcore, playing in the Blue Singles bracket, beat Guilleme Secanel, a Liberty freshman, 6-1, 6-0. He then went on to defeat Morgan State sophomore Duk Young Park by a score of 6-3, 6-3. Delcore will play Leo Lapentti, a senior from George Washington, on Saturday for a chance at a finals spot.
Bloom found success in the Orange Singles flight, defeating Dylan McCloskey of VCU 6-1, 6-0.
In doubles, Bloom and Delcore defeated Richmond seniors Aaron Wicker and Justin Baker 8-4. They will play second-seeded Greg Vladimirsky and Florent Sentenac of James Madison in the semifinals.
Play will continue on Saturday.
