FLUSHING, N.Y. -- The Wake Forest men's tennis team claimed its second national title of the fall, as the pairing of Christian Seraphim and Skander Mansouri won the doubles title at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships on Sunday.

In the final, the Wake Forest duo earned a pair of late breaks to beat Valparaiso's No. 55 ranked combination of Jeffrey Schorsch and Charlie Emhardt, 6-3, 7-5.

The Deacs were all square at 3-3 against the Crusaders in the opening set before claiming the final three games, including a break to go up 5-3. Then, with the second set even at 5-5, Seraphim and Mansouri held serve to make it 6-5 and clinched the match with a break.

The win gives Wake Forest its second title in as many national championship events this fall, as Petros Chrysochos won the singles title at the ITA All-American Championships.

Mansouri and Seraphim give the Deacs their second-ever title in the event. Cory Parr and Steve Forman also won the doubles championship in 2008.

As the only tournament on the ITA calendar to showcase elite players from every level of college tennis, the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships serves as the culmination of the fall season. Hosted by Columbia University, this prestigious event featured a 32-player singles draw and a 20-team doubles draw for men and women.

Other Demon Deacons wrapped up play at the Bulldog Scramble hosted by Georgia. Dennis Uspensky, Alan Gadjiev and Maksim Kan each picked up a win on the final day.
