WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Wake Forest men's tennis team opened play at its lone home event of the fall on Friday.

Alan Gadjiev led the Demon Deacons with a pair of singles wins in the A2 bracket, while Charles Parry won twice in the D1 bracket.

Gadjiev took down Krishna Jana of Navy and Enzo Wallert of Kentucky, both in straight sets. Parry also won both his matches in straight sets, taking down Liberty's Ryker Heller and Charlotte's Josh Cook.

Maksim Kan won his opening-round match in the A2 bracket over Davidson's David Hager before falling in the quarterfinal.

Gadjiev and Dennis Uspensky also teamed to win in the quarterfinal of the A1 doubles bracket.
