Deacs Host Charlotte, ETSU in Doubleheader
Amogh Prabhakar was one of four Deacons to win in singles and doubles in the season opener against Winthrop

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - After its 7-0 sweep of Winthrop on Monday, the Wake Forest men's tennis team looks to pick up two more wins in its doubleheader against Charlotte and ETSU on Saturday.

The 66th-ranked Demon Deacons (1-0) will first face 49ers at 10 a.m., followed by a matchup with Buccaneers at 5 p.m. Both matches will take place at the Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center.

Against Winthrop, Wake Forest won every singles match. Senior and No. 1 player David Hopkins enjoyed a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Winthrop sophomore Dylan Comerford, while nationally ranked Deacons Amogh Prabhakar (59) and Danny Kreyman (90) both won at their positions.

In doubles, the Deacons had no trouble. Hopkins and Prabhakar won against top-seeded Eagles duo Comerford and Steven Patrick by a score of 8-4.

Charlotte (0-1) lost to No. 39 South Carolina in its first match of the season, 6-1. 49ers sophomore Forrest Edwards earned Charlotte's only win, playing at the third position.

East Tennessee State has yet to play a match this season. Nationally ranked at No. 71, the Buccaneers have no individually ranked singles players or doubles teams.
