March 7, 2007 Princeton, N.J. - The Wake Forest men's tennis team has climbed to unprecedented heights in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings. The Demon Deacons are listed 12th in the latest edition of the poll, the highest ranking in the history of the program. Wake Forest (10-1) has already defeated eight nationally-ranked teams this spring, including 14th-ranked Minnesota and 24th-ranked and defending national champion Pepperdine. Individually, senior All-American Todd Paul fell from his perch atop college tennis. Previously ranked number one, Paul is ranked third this week behind Georgia's John Isner and Virginia's Somdev Devvarman. Paul has won all 10 of his spring matches and is 21-2 this year. Sophomore Cory Parr slipped to 70th in the poll and freshman Steven Forman dropped out of the rankings. Paul and junior Mariusz Adamski are ranked 31st in doubles. The March 6 edition of the rankings were the first computer rankings of the spring. The early season polls are determined by a human vote. Wake Forest is one of five ACC teams currently ranked in the top 20. Wake Forest returns to action on Monday, March 12 when the Deacons play UNLV in Las Vegas.
