April 19, 2007 GREENSBORO, N.C. - Wake Forest's Todd Paul and Cory Parr were named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Tennis team, the league announced on Thursday. Paul becomes the most decorated player in Wake Forest tennis history and takes his place among the best athletes to play for the Demon Deacons. The native of Stamford, Conn., is the first men's tennis player at Wake Forest to be named to the All-ACC team four straight years. In fact, Paul is only the eighth male and 13th student-athlete in school history to become a four-time first team All-ACC selection in any sport. Earlier this year, Paul was ranked as the number one player in college tennis. He has been ranked no lower than seventh this spring. Paul owns a 31-6 singles record, including a 20-4 mark at the number one position. He has won 15 of 19 matches against nationally-ranked opponents. Paul is one win away from breaking the school's career record for singles wins. In doubles, Paul is 20-10 this season, primarily with teammate Mariusz Adamski. At the moment, Paul and Adamski are ranked 12th nationally. They have posted a 17-7 record. Paul and Adamski are 8-3 in conference play, which is particularly impressive considering five of the nation's top 14 doubles teams reside in the ACC. Parr, a native of Jericho, N.Y., had a breakout season for the Deacons as a sophomore. Heading into the ACC Championships, Parr owns a 29-7 record in singles and a 25-10 mark in doubles. Parr moved into the number two singles position early in the spring and flourished. He posted a 17-5 record at number two in dual matches, including a 4-2 record against nationally-ranked opponents. Parr entered the rankings himself in February at number 51 and is currently ranked at a career-best 47th. Paul, Parr and their teammates begin their quest for an ACC Championship on Friday in Cary, N.C., when they take on the fifth-seeded Clemson Tigers in a quarterfinal match at 9:00 a.m. Wake Forest's Four-Time First Team All-ACC Selections: Gary Hallberg -- Men's Golf 1977-80 Robert Wrenn - Men's Golf 1978-81 Brick Smith -- Baseball 1978-81 Billy Andrade -- Men's Golf 1983-86 Nichole Stevenson -- Cross Country 1992-95 Stephanie Neill -- Women's Golf 1992-95 Terry Ann Zawacki -- Women's Tennis 1993-96 Andy Bloom -- Indoor Track 1992-96 Chrissy Person -- Outdoor Track 1994-98 Janet Bergman -- Women's Tennis 1999-02 Brent Wanner -- Men's Golf 2000-03 Bill Haas -- Men's Golf 2001-04 Todd Paul -- Men's Tennis 2003-07
