For the second year in a row and for the third time in program history, the Wake Forest men's tennis team will host the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament. The Demon Deacons earned the sixth seed overall in the tournament and will be joined by Michigan, East Tennessee State and Coastal Carolina at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex for the Winston-Salem Regional on May 13 and 14.

The Wolverines and Buccaneers will open play for the pod on Friday, May 13 at noon and will be followed by the Deacons and Chanticleers, who are scheduled to play at 3 p.m. The winners of those matches will play each other the following day at 3 p.m. for a spot in the NCAA Championships.

The NCAA Championships will feature the remaining 16 teams and will begin on May 19 at the host University of Tulsa's Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

The Deacs are making their 16th appearance in the tournament and are a part of the event for the fourth year in a row. Last season, they reached the round of 16 to match their best NCAA finish ever. The Deacons also reached the third round in 2007 and 2009.

ACC Tournament champion Wake Forest enters the tournament with a 29-5 overall record. The Demon Deacons have already eclipsed their school record for victories and had a program-record 10 conference wins. Their first-ever league title secured an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.

So far in 2016 the Deacons made their first-ever appearance in the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, going to 2-1 the event after reaching the quarterfinals, and achieved their highest-ever national ranking when they vaulted up to No. 5 in February.

Among the team's leaders this season are ACC Coach of the Year Tony Bresky, First Team All-ACC selection Skander Mansouri and Second Team All-ACC selection and conference freshman of the year Petros Chrysochos.

The No. 6 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament is the Deacs' highest-ever. Their No. 12 seed last season was their previous best.
