COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Wake Forest doubles team of senior Cory Parr and junior Steven Forman advanced to the second round of the NCAA Doubles Tournament with a straight-sets defeat of Kentucky's Bruno Agostinelli and Brad Cox on Thursday afternoon at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center.

Forman and Parr took down Agostinelli and Cox 6-3, 7-6 (5). The Demon Deacon duo, who is seeded in the top eight of the doubles draw, advances to face Oklahoma State's Nathan Byrnes and Nedovyesov in the round of 16 on Friday afternoon.

If Forman and Parr advance to the quarterfinals they will face the winner of Boise State's Kean Feeder and James Meredith and the second-seeded team of Davey Sandgren and John-Patrick Smith of Tennessee.

Forman's and Parr's opening-round defeat of Agostinelli and Cox was the Deacons' second win against the Wildcat tandem this month. Wake's Forman and Parr defeated Kentucky's Agostinelli and Cox, 8-3, in the Deacons' NCAA team tournament second round upset of the Wildcats on May 9 in Lexington.

Forman and Parr have now won seven straight doubles matches, dating back to the team's regular season finale against Virginia Tech.

Parr and Forman also won the doubles title at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's National Indoors Tournament last November.

Parr and Forman will play in the doubles round of 16 on Friday at 5 p.m. ET. Live video and up-to-the-minute stats are available here,
