WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest tennis signees Nolan Bauer and Kasey Gardiner were among the 40 boys and 40 girls that were named 2012 National High School Tennis All-Americans.

The award is given out in an effort to promote high school tennis and to recognize the most outstanding high school players and teams from throughout the United States. Award winners must all have above average academic and citizenship records, compete on high school tennis teams and have an individual USTA National ranking.

During his high school career, Bauer helped lead Chaparral High School (Scottsdale, Ariz.) to the 2010 and 2011 Arizona 5A-I team titles in 2010 and 2011. He was also the runner-up in this year's state singles tournament.

Gardiner finished her high school career at the Greenhills School (Ann Arbor, Mich.) with an unbeaten record. She won the 2009 and 2012 state singles championships.

Past National High School Tennis All-Americans have included Pete Sampras, Aaron Krickstein, Taylor Dent, Sam Querrey and Todd Martin.
