INDIAN WELLS, Calif. – The Wake Forest duo of Petros Chrysochos and Skander Mansouri continued their impressive run at the ITA National Fall Championships, as Chrysochos advanced to the semifinals of the singles draw while the two moved into the semifinals of the doubles draw.

Chrysochos, seeded third and ranked third, won a pair of matches on Friday to punch his ticket to the semis. He first took on JJ Wolf of Ohio State, who entered the tournament 29th nationally and seeded 10th. The Demon Deacon jumped out to an early lead and took the first set, 6-4. Wolf responded with a 6-4 decision in the second, forcing a decisive third set. In a match that went down to the wire, Chrysochos outlasted Wolf, 7-5, to punch his ticket to the quarterfinals.

In the quarters, Chrysochos drew seventh-ranked (No. 9 seed) Alfredo Perez. The battle of top-10 foes went the way of Chrysochos who secured his spot in the semifinals with a 7-5, 6-4 victory.

Mansouri’s run in the singles draw came to the end Saturday after advancing to the quarterfinals. The senior, ranked 10th and seeded fourth, won his first match of the day against 36th-ranked (No. 15 seed) Jordi Arconada of Texas A&M, 6-4, 6-2. In the quarterfinals, Mansouri faced Martin Redlicki of UCLA. Mansouri took the first set from the 24th-ranked and fifth-seeded Redlicki, 6-4, before dropping a 6-3 decision in the second set. The third set went to a tiebreaker to determine the match, with Mansouri dropping a 7-4 decision.

The two teamed up in doubles action to take down the No. 2 doubles team in the field of Will Little and Johannes Scretter of Baylor. The Baylor duo was ranked 19th in the country entering the tournament and would force Chrysochos and Mansouri to a tiebreaker in the opening set. The Demon Deacon duo would claim the tiebreaker, 8-6, and use the momentum to close out the match with a 6-3 victory in the second set.

The run of Christian Seraphim and Julian Zlobinsky came to an end in the consolation draw, dropping a 6-4, 6-3 decision to the duo of Knight and Hua of Michigan.

Wake Forest is the only school with representatives in the semifinals of both the singles and double draws. Action will continue Saturday and conclude Sunday.
