INDIAN HILLS, Calif. – Competing as doubles partners for the first time ever, Petros Chrysochos and Skander Mansouri won five consecutive matches to claim the doubles title at the ITA National Fall Championships.

It is the second consecutive title at the event for the Demon Deacons, as Mansouri and Christian Seraphim brought home the title a year ago when the event was known as the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships.

Steven Forman and Cory Parr also won the event in 2008 while Chrysochos won the 2016 ITA All-American Singles Championship, giving the Demon Deacons four national titles in program history.

The duo, who earned an at-large berth into the field of 32, had won four matches over four days to set up Sunday’s finale against the No. 8 seed of Rodrigo Banzer and Leonardo Telles of Texas. Wake Forest’s victory was never in doubt as the duo dropped a total of four games en route to a 6-2, 6-2 decision.

Chrysochos was looking to complete a Demon Deacon sweep at the event, as he competed in the singles championship earlier in the day. There, he faced top-seeded and second-ranked Nuno Borges of Mississippi State. After playing to a 5-all draw in the opening set, Borges held serve before breaking Chrysochos to take the first set, 7-5. He then closed out the match with a 6-3 victory in the second set.

Sunday marked the end of the fall season for Wake Forest, as four additional Demon Deacons, Bar Botzer, Alan Gadjiev, Sean Patrick and Yuval Solomon, competed at the Wake Forest Invitational.

Botzer defeated No. 2 seed Spencer Furman in the semis before topping top-seeded Antonio Cebellin in the championship match of the A1 flight, 6-2, 6-4. Gadjiev placed fourth in the A2 singles flight and Patrick collected his first-career singles victories in the C1 singles flight as he finished third. In doubles play, Botzer and Gadjiev paired up to take second in the A1 doubles flight.
