WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest head men's tennis coach Tony Bresky announced another addition to the 2017 squad, Borna Gojo, on Wednesday.

Gojo, a native of Croatia, is expected to compete for a spot in the lineup once he enrolls in January.

"Borna will be an outstanding representative to our program," Bresky said. "In addition to being an excellent student, Borna is an established high-level tennis player with strong pro results to back it up. He has high aspirations for his tennis and chose our program for that reason. I expect Borna will make an immediate impact in our lineup this January in both singles and doubles. He has tremendous potential and we are excited to begin working with him."

Gojo has been ranked as high as No. 143 in the ITF junior rankings. In the ATP rankings, he's been as high as No. 827 in the world in singles and No. 674 in doubles action.

As the top-rated U18 singles player in Croatia, Gojo has won a pair of futures titles in doubles.

"I'm very happy to have an opportunity to play for Wake Forest," Gojo said. "The first thing I looked for is a quality coaching staff and a great atmosphere and environment for improving my tennis. I think Wake Forest has it all and to be honest, I can't wait to step on the court and give my all for the team, and I believe we will have a historic year."

The Deacs open the spring season on Jan. 14, playing host to North Florida and ETSU in a doubleheader.
