LaShawn begins her first season as a volunteer assistant for the Demon Deacon track program. She is familiar with the ACC as she was an All-Conference triple jumper at the University of North Carolina.

Henighan captained the Tar Heels for three seasons and was a three-year letterwinner. She was a multiple time scorer for the Heels at both the indoor and outdoor ACC Championship meets and won the long jump at the Penn Relays as a sophomore.

Henighan graduated from UNC in 2003 with a sociology degree and is currently pursuing her masters degree in sports management from The United States Sports Academy.
